Lucy Liu was born in the United States. She is an American actress, a singer as well as a voice actress. A beautiful and smart actress she serves as an inspiration for many Asian actors who wish to be successful in Hollywood. The early successes of her were boosted through her participation in several popular television show. In those shows, she played the evil Ling Woo. The actress took her initial popularity into big screen roles in films including Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. Her next performance was a dazzling performance as Japanese crime lord O-Ren Ishii in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. At the same time, she was playing the lead role in a few box office failures such as Rise: Blood Hunter. Then she began voicing famous characters from animated films such including Kung Fu Panda and Tinker Bell. Mia Mason, in Cashmere Mafia and other small screen roles failed to bring her much success. Southland's highly praised police show, Southland and a recurring role helped Liu re-establish her status as a well-known actor.
