
Thomas William Selleck is an American actor from America. His first role was private detective Thomas Magnum in the television series Magnum, P.I. He was nominated for five Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in the Drama Series (1980-1988) as well as took home the Emmy Award in 1985. From 2010 until 2010, Selleck was the New York City Police Chief Frank Reagan. Since 2005, he's played the character of Jesse Stone, a troubled police chief from small-town New York City. He has also appeared in nine television movies which are based on Robert B. Parker novels. Selleck has also been featured in films in the role of Peter Mitchell, a bachelor architect as seen in Three Men and a Baby (1987) as well as Three Men and a Little Lady (90). He has also been seen in more than 50 different films and TV parts since Magnum, P.I., including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball. He played the frequent television character playing Monica Geller's love interest Dr. Richard Burke and Lance White on Friends. In addition as A.J. Cooper in Las Vegas. Cooper also played the lead part in the TV western The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran and a spokesperson for the National Rifle Association (NRA) as well as an endorser on advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
